“Alicia”
Alicia:
They were wheeling me down to surgery
Steve Lawson:
Alicia Foss from the Tri Cities had gotten the page. She was on her way to a double lung transplant when
Alicia:
The nurse got a call from the surgeon saying that the lungs were no good, and we were sent back home to wait.
Steve Lawson:
and wait.
Alicia:
I have been on the waiting list for almost three years now
Steve Lawson:
Alicia’s Mom Dianne and her Dad Jim are also waiting
Dad:
When she first got on the list we actually felt it was going to happen right away. The weeks go by and the months go by . . . you don’t give up hope but it gets hard sometimes because you wonder, is this going to happen? But you know, it has to happen . . . because you don’t want the alternative.
Steve Lawson:
How can you help Alicia?
Mom:
Some people have said to us that they’re not a registered donor because no one has ever asked them. Well, I’m asking you as a mom.  Would you please consider registering your name as an organ donor?
Steve Lawson:
Please, register as an organ eye and tissue donor when you renew your driver’s license. But what are you waiting for? You can register right now at donate life today.com.
